I do not believe that any group should be protected from being offended. Yes, there are degrees of offense and improper motives, but does not satire offend on the surface? If one is to demand protection from being offended, one should be able to give a supportable, non-emotional rational reason.

The National Endowment for the Arts takes great pleasure in supporting “artists” who, after feeding in the government trough for public funds, greatly offend Christians. Let the Muslims state their case for their exemption from being offended.
