The fish rots from the head down.

Our President believes water boarding of a few high value terrorists, the ring leaders of death, is torture. He endorses euphemisms like “man caused disaster” and “foriegn contingency operation” as acceptable substitutes for terrorist incidents and war. He tries hard to divert attention from actual conflict started by Islamic radicals who have repeatedly attacked a country that has spent hundreds of billions of it’s citizens tax dollars freeing Muslims (Kuwait, Afghanistan Soviet occupation) and protecting them from attack (Bosnia). Our President has made an industry out of condemning previous administration’s foriegn policies that protected America and it’s allies.

Our President has appointed an Attorney General who has decided that it is necessary to prosecute CIA operatives for their interogation and imprisonment of the enemy. That same AG believes that it is necessary to try admitted terrorist ring leaders in civilian courts affording them the rights of citizens in the process. He doesn’t believe in employing the military court system that his own boss helped establish through legislation.

When one considers these policies and attitudes one should not at all be surprised that devout Islamists think it is ok to initiate attacks against our soldiers within the borders of the US. They are not terrorists in the eyes of our leaders, they are misguided criminals, as is the 23 year old killer who attempted to bomb NW flight 253.

The incidents that are occuring should not be happening, of course. Our President told us as a candidate that the planet would heal and the waters would recede when he became our chief executive.

That is prehaps, the silliest concept put forth by an academic socialist who believes all sorts of fantasy about the history of our country and its relationships with foriegn powers. That same man is demonstrably resentful of the country he now runs.

We should not be surprised that we are seeing an increase in attacks against our country. The message that it is permisable is being sent by the words and actions of our own President.

The fish rots from the head down. Elections have consequences.
