I am the mother of 4 young children, and it terrifies me to think that they may want to one day join the service and protect our country and what it stands for. But please read further…I am a mother who wants nothing more than to love and protect her own, and that makes me selfish…which is my RIGHT as a mother.
I am also a Christian and I lay a lot of stake in my faith and in GOD. He asks us to honor and to trust not only in Him, but also in those who are chosen to lead us. So I will pray to Him and ask forever for His guidance and will to be placed upon not only my heart, by our nation’s leaders as well. That is my RIGHT as a Christian.
I am also an American, and not only that, but an American female, and that means I am afforded much more opportunity, freedoms, and rights than women almost anywhere else in the world. It means my children can become anything they dream to be, that we can live in our faith despite the fears of others, that when it comes right down to it, our nation will and should choose to come together and fight to unite for these and so many other reasons. And that is not only MY RIGHT, but OUR RIGHTS as Americans.
