You miss the point. We volunteered – that’s our job. Do I want to go off and leave my wife and daughter? Of course not, but it’s part of what I do. If I didn’t think going to war for extended periods wasn’t likely to be part of the deal, I should have either gotten out when my four years were up(in 1999) or never joined in the first place.
