Biofuels cannot possibly be carbon neutral. The raw material must be cultivated, transported, processed and the final product distributed. All this takes energy over and above the amount generated by the biomass itself. Carbon neutrality only happens when natural uncultivated plant life burns in situ.

Biofuel carbon neutrality is the modern equivalent of the perpetual motion machine.
