No, Iraq was not directly connected to 9/11(although I’m pretty sure they cheered for it), but there are NOW al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq. It is NOW a part of the GWOT. Or do you think there are no foreign born terrorists in Iraq.
And the war was pre-emptive. GWB never said Iraq was an imminent threat – he said they could not be allowed to become an imminent threat. However, experience in Iraq, thanks to the mealy mouthed press corps that is giving misleading coverage, will prevent us, more than likely, from stopping Iran until it’s too late.
My biggest fear? I fear that it’ll take a major catastrophe, even worse than 9/11, before we wake up and realize that evil MUST be fought. We can’t sit back and hope they won’t hate us anymore.
