Forgive me for forgetting what Iraq had to to with 9/11 or how many people were strapping bombs to themselves in Iraq prior to the misbegotten, idiotic, and ultimately tragic decision to invade when Bush and Co. had so woefully managed the as yet uncompleted task in Afghanistan.
You wingnuts can rationalize, play the “blame game”, and call names all you want, but a lifetime or more of perpetual war against an ideology on foreign shores (purportedly so that we “don’t have to fight them here”) is not going to work.
That you’re all willing to conflate the invasion of Iraq with the overall GWOT (again, Afghanistan was mostly forgotten) shows the real lack of mental bandwidth to which you have access.
Then again, you’re also all willing to forget that what? 17 or so of the highjackers were from and schooled in the hatred of America in Bush’s best buddy’s country, Saudi Arabia and that Pakistan is continually aiding the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.
But wait, we were talking about Iraq, and you don’t get to re-write history no matter how tough you try to act.
