Yes, there is a contradiction, and this is it – you say you want us to finish the job, but won’t send more help to do so. Why do you think we don’t need the surge? Not that we should pull back, but why we don’t need it.
You aren’t supporting me by pulling the rug out from underneath me. It’s not support to tell me to stop short of my objective. Bringing us home only gives vistory to the enemy.
You want to truly support us? Give us all the tools to win, and then let us stay there until the job is done.
