Puleeeeeze!
Bush stared into the face of the enemy, the “existential threat to our very survival and way of life”, the clash of civilazations, and what did he see? Evil? Nope. He saw a political opportunity. Now that he has hosed things up so bad that he has left us with no good options, he (via the author) scolds us for not being up for the fight. This is a fight we never should have been in. When all is said and done, Bush will be seen for what he really is: A coward backed by the most powerful military in the world.
