I firmly believe we should stay in Iraq until we finish what we set out to do there. But I am hoping that the Democrats stop Bush dead in his track and don’t let him send one more solider to Iraq. I am not the one NOT supporting our troops when I say that…you’re thinking of the President. When I see reports on the news that we have been there for 4 years and spent billions, and Iraqi troops have no bullets, then I want our troops brought home, because we obviously have a Commander in Chief who is not up to the task. We’ve heard for 3 years now about training Iraq soldiers so our troops can come home. But just last week, they interviewed Iraqis who had no bullets and we’re picking up scrap metal to use as shields when they get shot at. I would be the first one to say, yeah, stay and fight. But as long as we have a President who will not listen to his generals (fires them when he doesn’t like what they say) and cannot even get bullets in the hands of Iraqi soldiers so our boys can come home, then I refuse to support remaining in Iraq.
This country has the most fearsome fighting machine the world has ever seen, when it’s administered right. When it has an incompetent leader, it’s ineffective and puts lives as risk unnecessarily.
