We should withdraw from Iraq. The situation is untenable now because of how badly the Bush administration screwed up in the beginning months of the war. No doubt our enemies are evil. No doubt our men and women in the service are pressed to the max and deserve our support and love. No doubt we are on the right side of this conflict. No doubt it’s over and we should cut our losses, choose a new tactic to protect ourselves in the future. Overwhelming force might have won the war at the outset. It’s too late now, the population of Iraq is too polarized, and too much time has passed allowing the insurgency to grow too deep into the soil.
