Htom,
Sincere thanks for what you did and what you gave up. God Bless and I hope the V.A. takes good care of you.
Bart
You lost me, owing to the fact that I was a soldier.
I don’t think I am out of line or irrelevant.
We live in a world where the Army HAS raised the maximum enlistment age to 42, where guys are getting their second set of Mob orders, and other guys are getting their second and sometimes third combat tours extended.
If you don’t want to enlist and are out there screaming “no Blood for Oil” that makes you a moron, but at least you are honest and consistent, and I respect that, even in a moron.
But if you were born since 1965 and want to run around the blogosphere being all “Hua-Hua-Hua” for the war, and the only uniform you have ever worn involved a paper hat and the sale of french fries I think you owe and explanation to the men and women who are being told to stick around Baghdad a little longer for this surge and that ARE serving and are 1-4 on the “being there for the kids birthday” and 3-7 on the “being there for the wedding anniversary”. I think you need to explain to them why THEY are getting called upon to sacrifice AGAIN while you sit at home reading spreadsheets and watching football.
