Yes Bush did a lot wrong but at least he fought. When Ramsey Yousef and Abdul Rahman Yasin tried to murder upwards of 200,000 by toppling one Tower into the other nothing was done. When Iran took our Embassy hostage, an act of war, Carter did nothing. When 241 Marines were murdered by Agents of Iran operating under the Nom de Guerre of HezB’Allah nothing was done.
President Bush should have increased military spending to at least the highest point of the Clinton Years as a percentage of GDP. He should have hammered home all of the connections between Saddam and Terror. He should have viciously responded to those who declared him more dangerous than the terrorists.
Yes he should have done a lot differently but he got one essential thing right. He went after the terrorists…he finally took the war to them. Now the American people are showing their cowardice…and when we are watching in sheer terror as our cities are attacked by terrorists in the future we can look into the mirrors to see who is to blame…the cowards looking back at them. The cowards who though American Idol was more important than American Heros fighting for us.
