352 misanthropicus: Again, I’m not scared of Palin proving anything. She wasn’t claiming she had proof. If there was proof as you claim, it would have surfaced by now. There’s no way that kind of a secret could be kept for 40+ years. It’s ridiculous. There is no ‘suffocating fear’ that Obama will be proved illegitimate. That’s just what Birthers tell themselves to keep the faith in their quest, I guess. That’s like saying that Palin supporters are scared that Palin’s pregnancy was faked when people dispute those claims. It makes the base rally and feel better about their impact, but it’s ridiculous. I don’t think Sarah Palin is sitting up nights worrying about someone outing her any more than Obama is. .

You are projecting the thoughts of other on me because I pointed out a simple fact: Palin lied. She did not provide information that she said she did. No where have I said she wasn’t popular or striking a chord with a segment of the population that wants to be represented. She has. That is obvious. But being on a book tour and running in a primary are two very different things and I just don’t see how she will overcome the powers that be in the GOP to ever mount a successful primary campaign–and I do not think that is her intent. Not because I’m scared of her-that’s ridiculous–but because I think she is going to realize that being the candidate will inevitably harm her marketability and limit her ability to be the voice of change that she wants to be.

If she was such a shoe-in for 2012 then candidates in VA and NJ would have fallen all over themselves to get her to campaign for them. They didn’t. Perhaps that will change in the 2010 cycle–we’ll see–but if she isn’t on the stump for candidates around the country either through appearances or being asked to endorse, then I think it will be a sure sign that she isn’t the candidate that the GOP play callers want representing them.

I didn’t come here to troll–I came here to read a column that I thought was well-written and made a very legitimate point. I wasn’t aware that only people who disagreed with Rick were allowed to comment. If he’d been talking about Keyes and Keyes had told a lie about providing proof, I’d have commented about him, too. I am not an Obamatron or a person who follows talking points as gospel. I am not a Democrat or a Republican–I vote for candidates in both parties at all levels.

All I’m asking for is proof that she says she provided. Where is it? I’ve been called names and told to shut up, but no one to this point has been able to answer my question. She either lied or she didn’t. Where is the proof she said she gave?
