Norwegians better hope the North Sea fields never run dry, because if (when) that happens, they’re screwed blue. “Indolence, idleness, and mediocrity” on this large a scale require equally large scale subsidization. People who take such pride in those qualities will never be able to return to the hardscrabble life of Norway pre North Sea oil strike.
