The interesting thing to me is that someone is attacking and killing Iranian Qods Force agents in Iraq.

Several Iranian “diplomatic” convoys have been ambushed and their occupants wounded, captured, or killed. The most recent attack happened on May 15.

These convoys are heavily guarded by Iran’s best paramilitary forces. The only people capable of pulling off the attacks are Coalition special operations forces.

Somebody has given the order to take out the Qods Force, even if they’re traveling under diplomatic protection. This is a huge shift in policy.

I’m betting General Petraeus is responsible, of course with the support of President Bush. If so, I certainly wouldn’t want to be in Iran’s shoes when Petraeus takes over as head of CENTCOM. He’s said we won’t win in Iraq until Iran has been stopped from interfering one way or another.

By the way, an American attack on Iran won’t start World War III. Who will come to Iran’s aid? China? Russia? The EU? Syria?

The answer is nobody. If we attack Iran and destroy the mullahs’ power base by taking out the Revolutionary Guards, oil will spike for a month and Hezbollah will probably attack Israel. But Israel has learned from its mistakes in 2006. This time, Israel will hit back decisively.

President Bush told the Israelis that Iran requires a “radical solution” that will change the entire outlook of the middle east.

That sounds to me like there’s a plan to neutralize the mullahs and the Revolutionary Guards, and the only way to do that is to destroy Iran’s offensive military capabilities.
