Great letter Banafsheh. Was this actually sent to Sen. Obama’s office in DC? If not, it should be. If the U.S. could help European dissidents inside the Soviet Union — a minority of which actually protested and opposed the Soviet-backed regime — then there is no moral, political, or strategic excuse not to work with the Iranian citizens, who are at least 5-to-1 actively opposed to the mullahs.
Hopefully we won’t have to worry about what an Obama admin. would do. McCain’s “rogue-state rollback” from ’99 and 2000 sounds like something Iranian dissidents would appreciate.
