Ain’t gonna happen. Syria wields geopolitical power vastly disproportionate to its size, due to its decades-long support of terror. It would lose all that to become a “normal” country. Moreover, due to the minority status of the ruling Alawites, they realize that terror is also a prerequisite for maintaining internal control. Hama rules!
