At this point, Obama’s remaining (vocal) defenders must engage in vast acts of cognitive dissonance if they’re sincere, and equally vast campaigns of mendacity and dissimulation if they’re not. The problem with such a Baghdad Bobbish facade is that thanks to the Internet and a handful of lesser sources, the facts about Obama can no longer be effectively redecorated, much less concealed.
– Obama waged a “post-partisan, post racial” campaign, but has governed as a hyper-partisan, utterly friendly to race hustlers such as Eric Holder and Van Jones.
– Obama campaigned against the Bush era deficits, but has embraced deficits several times as large as anything Bush countenanced.
– Obama attacked Bush’s decision to go to war to remove Saddam Hussein and spoke of Afghanistan as the high-priority front, but has done everything but run away when confronted with his inaction on Afghanistan.
– Obama has demonstrated that he’s incapable of tolerating opposition, dissent, or criticism. In particular, those who call his social-fascist initiatives by their right names are marked for destruction.
– Obama shows no loyalty to his minions, which has unpleasant implications for his priorities.
– Obama, this supposedly smart fellow, seems unable to grasp that he’s been found out — seen through — unmasked for what he really is and really holds dear. Nor is he bright enough to change tactics when his current ones fail him.
The mouthpieces of the Left have, from time to time asked about conservatives, “Are they stupid or evil?” It’s become clear that their main objection is to the “or” part of that query. Their preference is for “and” — that is, for a front man who’s both.
