The role of government is to protect its citizens. When we keep electing people who are not in office to do what is right, but to protect their own supporters and careers, we get this kind of event.
Doing what is right in all of the little ways, adds up to stopping these kinds of tragedies.
Good government will work for us. Bad government where too many decisions are made for political reasons and not because of what is right, hurts us all.
