The public doesn’t reject it because they want it to be true, whether it is or isn’t.
Having already made up their minds that Israel Is Evil, as long as it is possible that it *could* be true, that’s good enough for them.
It works the same way over here in the United States. The media puts out “news” irrespective of its accuracy, just so long as it continues to sell the narrative; ie Republicans hate children, the poor and want to destroy the earth, etc etc.
