I can’t believe someone got away with saying Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington are overrated. Louis Armstrong almost single-handedly revolutionized american music (His 1920′s recordings not really his other recordings like Hello Dolly… those weren’t bad though either). If it weren’t for him we’d be listening to crooners singing “Oh my darling, oh I love you, My Darling!” and marching band music. Duke Ellington is simply one of America’s greatest composers.
