The First Lady has traditionally had a representational function, be it at White House dinners or on trips abroad. There are things in Michelle’s comments that cause me worry. She seems more focussed on America’s faults than on its strengths. She seems to lack an appreciation of what America has given all of us. In fact, she seems at imes bitter. Why is this off the table?
