Both Clinton and Obama want the bragging rights to being respective firsts. Clinton in addition needs money regardless of the outcome to cover her expenses. This is apparent in that if you go to her website, you will usually first get redirected to her donation page most of the time.
She needs to stay in the race to keep people donating money to her so Obama will be willing to trade her endorsement for the rest of her debts. She probably not be satisfied with less than President, but might accept the idea of Bill being appointed ambassador to Israel or something similar so as to make a historical legacy to remember their achievements until her next bid for the White House.
