The Senator’s use of “sweetie” was, to me, obviously dismissive. Like the other examples given it is short for “don’t bother me, just listen.” As to if if it sexist or not, I would say that depends upon if one can find similarly dismissive language directed at males.
But sexist ot not, arrogant or not, it is, for me, far too casual a form of address to be used by one who aspires to be arguably the most powerful person on Earth. Of course, I don’t like it when salesmen I’ve never met cold-call me using my first name, either.
