The other competing cities made their pitches about what they could do to make the Olympics successful: transportation, facilities, hotel rooms, etc. M, O and O made an emotional appeal as to what the Olympics could do for Chicago: Give us the Olympics because that’s what my father would have wanted, it’s for the children, diversity, etc. The emotional appeal also probably lost a great deal of its heartstring-tugging effectiveness since most of the delegates heard it via a translators voice through an earbud. Since Rio is in the southern hemisphere, won’t we be able to have both the Summer and Winter Olympics at the same time?
