While I agree wholeheartedly that Allstonian’s comment was a bit of a non-sequitur to this thread, and perhaps even a bit of the old Shakepearean “protesting too much”, your overquick rebuttal seems a bit disingenuous. As a white who grew up in inner city Detroit, and as an adult who makes consirable efforts to work in my birth city to try and heal some of its ills, I can assure you there are indeed areas of this country where light skin color is highly detrimental to your health. This is particularly true where there is a concentration of sub 17yr old teenage males. I have not personally encountered any area of the U.S. where the converse is true.
