Obama is attractive, charming and genial, which makes it hard to view these informal endearments as chauvinist repression. McCain, on the other hand, is a creepy old gigolo on whose lips the word “Sweetie” would be enough to gag a porn-star.
PS: I think Angela Merkel would prefer being called “dollface” by Obama to enduring the vigorous Presidential Public Grope she received at the hands of George Bush.
