In my neck of the woods, “sweetie” is used as a derogatory put-down, in particular in instances such as appear described here.. It is something akin to replacing the “b” word with “sweetie” in the same way “heck” is used in place of.. h-e-double-toothpicks…….
My guess is that one who is applying for the job of president has studied up on how not to offend those of foreign countries.. What exactly has become so difficile about doing the same within ours..?
Politically correct verbiage is part and parcel of the presidential job employment package..
