There is nothing shocking about people in a country resenting those that want to be part of that country, legally or illegally. And yes, there are those that are guilty of racism. My grandfather used to talk about “irish and dogs keep off the grass” and it was not a warm welcome. However, there is a legitimate gripe about letting immigrants off willy nilly for breaking the law. So we must think outside the box and work to get control and eventually solve this issue. Without all the hype. Will we do that? probably not.
