You’re damn right racism hurt Obama. However, that’s as far as you got before going off course. It wasn’t the racism of whites that made Obama lose West Virginia — though I’m sure that sort of voting did count for something, say less than 1%. A lot less.
The racism that hurt Obama was his own. He spent at least 20 years of his life in a church that taught him from a relatively young age to hate someone on the basis of their skin color because their ancestors had hated on the basis of skin color. He quite regularly associates with people of political persuasions that are at least as radical as the Trinity Church’s. His continual slurs against “typical white people” who are bitter and clinging to guns and religion for comfort make his own opinions of whites absolutely transparent.
It is entirely possible for black people to be racist. Whites are not the only ones, simply on the basis that some of our ancestors committed heinous crimes in the name of their race. I fail to see how the same acts committed in supposed retribution are justified; even if Obama doesn’t support those ideologies, the fact remains that they have tainted his worldview and remains entirely unapologetic.
