You forgot about us “typical white people” in PA who have “antipathy toward people” who aren’t like us.
And for Bob who is enjoying dragging out ancient history of the 1920′s…the Klan was virulently anti-Catholic as well as anti-Jew and black.
I was told of a story that a great uncle of mine fought the klan. Thousands of Klansman planned to “rally” here in Pittsburgh in a mixed ethnic Catholic immigrant(Irish, Italian, Polish, German…) neighborhood. The men of the town stopped them and below is what ensued. I suggest you read up on your history. The racist card is tattered and worn. Not gonna fly anymore. Try learning some history you ignoramus. Most “working-class” whites in PA are Catholic.

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 26 — State, county and municipal authorities were co-operating tonight in measures to prevent a renewal of the rioting which at midnight last night resulted in the death of one Klansman and the injury of many, both Klansmen and their foes, when a Klan parade attempted to enter Carnegie, a suburb.
