Hillary Clinton is not the heroic marathon runner who persists to the end (like the woman we saw in the 1984 Olympics, Gabriela Andersen-Schiess, who nearly died from heat exhaustion and oxygen deprivation as she approached the finish line inside the stadium).
Hillary is the hockey player whose team is getting trounced unexpectedly, and as a result is taking cheaps shots and starting fights, saying “OK, you want to win? You’re going to have to pay for it.”
Nothing heroic in what she is doing, it is just self-serving. Because I don’t see the Democratic Party leadership taking the victory away from Obama by some backroom deal, and having Howard Dean say “Mr. Obama, pleast step to the back of the bus. This seat for the Presidential Nominee is reserved for a white woman.” That would be the end of the Democratic Party.
On second thought, maybe it’s not such a bad idea…..
