Peter writes: I think it could be argued it was said in the fact US law does not recognize duel citizenship. According to US law, you either are a US citizen or you are not.
Other countries may accept duel citizenship. Taiwan, ROC does, as my ex was a citizen of both. But while the ROC accepted my ex was a citizen of Taiwan AND the US, the US considered her ONLY a US citizen. If she were to declare herself a Taiwanese citizen before a US government body, she would be required to renounce her US citizenship first.
