“I must admit to having a strong prejudice against Democratic politicians from Chicago Illinois.”
And that’s the another issue going back in history—and is that racist or bigoted, since BHO is from Chicago?
Look, I have lived on the near west side of Indy most of my life. The area was 99% white 30 years ago, and now it’s a mix of Asian, white, black and Latino. In fact, between where I live and downtown, there is a 5-7 block stretch that is now 100% Mexican/Latino. Does it cause some to look twice? Sure. Has any racial incident erupted that I know of? No, sir. Would this “peace” be the same in LA, NY or DC? I’m not so sure. Check last week’s news about the riot between Latins and Blacks at the high school in LA.
Indiana is no more racist and maybe less racist than any state I have visited.
This article the author cites is proof that the big city media will do whatever it takes to smear and humiliate middle American folks in order to get THEIR candidate (Obama) elected. It’s angering. I’ve been a Democrat most of my life, but between 9-11 and Howard Dean taking over and pushing the party way left of center, I am now independent and will vote for McCain in the fall. It’s a no brainer.
Oh, and as Kaufman points out, if you read the entire article, you’ll see that even Merida shows that all these racial incidents were scattered and hardly a big deal. The Obama camp also says it’s been overwhelmingly positive out there on the trail.
So yes, this article is, as Kaufman writes, “irresponsible journalism.”
Thanks.
