I like Sarah Palin. I don’t need a messiah. For the benefit os anyone who thinks she doesn’t know economics, I’ll bet I would have to go through a sample of 1000 people to find anyone as ignorant as Obama on that subject.
About a year ago, I rode a bike (motorcycle) completely around, and across Oz. I like Oz and I like Ozzies. It’s the only place I’ve ever ridden where complete strangers invited me to their homes to spend a night. I found they were much like Americans, a little more egalitarian, and proud of it. Diving on the Barrier Reef was fascinating, Queensland reminded me of Texas, right down to the Santa Gertrudis cattle and the King ranch.
There are only 25,000,000 or so Ozzies. I found they treated their Vietnam veterans as least as badly as we treated ours, till very recently. They seem to be more welcoming to immigrants than we are, possibly because area wise they are comparable to our lower 48, but have huge amounts of empty space.
Oh yeah, I found that in towns, you better look left before you step off the curb, if you want to live long enough to come back and tell about your wonderful stay there.
