“twisted best interest”
I like this phrase. It hits at the heart of the Israeli-Arab conflict. One or more groups’ “best interest” is “twisted”. I wouldn’t agree to call it rational, however. Rational players would have resolved the issues long ago. Emotions are doing the twisting, and rationality has gone bye-bye. Call me a cynic, but I’m not optimistic that anyone, even magical Obama or maverick McCain will have much luck untwisting that mess.
As to why isn’t Obama bothered by terrorist support? My guess- his ego. He believes his own hype, that when he speaks, healing salve pours from his lips that will erase all the history of anger and pain that exists in places like the ME. We will finally have peace, as long as he says “yes we can”.
