Is anyone else creeped out by the meticulousness required for lethal injection anyway? If I were Camille Paglia I could put my finger on it, but suffice it to say that it bears too much resemblance to therapeutic or diagnostic medical treatment.

I think we should bring back the firing squad. Use weapons, not some subtle, dual-purpose modern technology developed by medical professionals that functions at the molecular level. (Yes, I know it’s all ultimately molecular, but blowing a hole through one’s heart seems more mechanical than does stopping it with potassium chloride.)
