Mr. Thomson (#1), I too saw very early that an Obama presidency would be anything but post-racial, and that having him in office would fan the flames of resentment. I also predicted, sad to say correctly, that dissent would be labeled as racist. What the left has done to langiage is an outrage; thanks to them the very word “racism” will be stripped of its meaning, such that when actual racism really does occur, citizens who might otherwise have taken it seriously will be less-inclined to do so.

Mr. T. (#8): “I am a former Department attorney in the SPL section in Civil Rights. Your article reveals what everyone there knows. Whites are the target of the Department because whites are the historical oppressors. They are the imperialists and slavemasters.” I am a part-time graduate student in history at a quite liberal university, and you are indeed correct, white males are the all-purpose whipping boy these days, no matter what the (alleged) crime. My question for you is this: Now that we the people have justice department less interested in dispensing justice, than in being pseudo-intellectual marxists and race-grievance-mongers, what is to be done about it? These are appointees, beholden only to the President, are they not? Can they be recalled by referendum or other action? I suspect not. What does that leave us, what recourse?

(#9) tanstaafl: “What does a community organizer do? He organizes are the resentments and paranoia within a community, directing those feelings against other communities, from whom either benefits or revenge are to be gotten, using whatever rhetoric or tactics will accomplish that purpose.” Precisely; “community organizer” = Marxist sypathizer and mole, radical agitator, grievance monger.

Bohemond (#18):
“Unfortunately the career government workforce necessarily skews Left and always will.” If we ever hope to reclaim our republic, this had better change. That means finding talented, committed conservatives – real ones, not imposters – and getting them interested in government service. It will be an ugly job, but eventually given time and numbers, we’ll reclaim what has been lost. “Moreover, the permanent bureaucracy’s culture is effectively immune to political changes. No matter who occupies the White House, nearly all hiring decisions are made well down the organization chart.” Again correct, and this also must change if meaningful reform is to take place. To coin a phrase, “Presidents come and go, but bureaucrats are forever.”

Delia (#39): “The stark contrast of black people cheering, dancing and shouting vs the white people looking shocked, disgusted and horrified when O.J. Simpson got off for murdering two white people should have been a dire warning.” Indeed it should have, you are so very right.

Scott (#41): “You know what I find insulting? I have to show ID to purchase cough syrup when I’m sick and canned air when I want to clean my computer but people don’t have to show ID when voting for the people that will govern our counties, states, and nation?” It gets worse, Obama literally could not pass a basic background and security check to serve on his own Secret Service detail, because of his past, questionable associations with known criminals and terrorists. Yet, the man made it all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue without so much as anyone lifting an eyebrow – except me, screaming at my TV (which do precisely zero good as you can tell). Bet you $20 that the next domino to fall is the requirement that the Chief Executive be native born.

Blackwater (#51): “Many whites on the left don’t think it’s even possible for non-whites to be bigoted. Male leftists don’t think women can’t be sexists either. And they believe that islam is just as peace loving and moderate as Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. Believing otherwise makes you an ignorant bigot. They’ve been spoonfed politically correct history revisionism ever since they were children that white people and Western civilization is evil and the oppressors of all other races.” Sadly, you are correct; I am a conservative historian, and I’ve been in the belly of the beast, so to speak, and seen/heard the leftist view of history close-up. It is happening exactly as you say.

(#68) Chiron: “The sad fact is that there is today much more racism among blacks directed at whites than there is among whites directed at blacks. But blacks feel entitled to their racism.” Not all do, but many do… thankfully, some courageous Americans who happen to be black are coming forward to denounce racism which is just as evil practiced against whites as by them.
