As usual, I think you are right on the money, Jennifer.
O recall everytime the Bush administration tried to change anything in that Division, a very slanted version of the events made it to the font page of the Washington Post where the career lawyers seemed to have a ratline.
That they feel above the law is obvious in the stonewalling of the Civil Rights Division over this incident.
