Your “common ground” of fairness and brotherly love is indeed the leftist position. It is the hallucination of the noble savage invented by Rousseau, an idea which leads directly on the guillotine and into the gulags and the killing fields. In case you grow up sometimes you will hopefully find out that peace is only available if you are prepared for battle.
