You put it brilliantly. And yes, it is sad that those of us that are not Americans sometimes feel like we understand and care more about this country than some natives. Maybe it is because we have actually experience life outside the American bubble and therefore value it more.
As for me, I know what it’s like to live with bombs going off in the night, and I am willing to make the sacrifices, which to me are very, very small (bag searches, airport security, eavesdropping on my non-important calls…so meaningless) in order to live in peace.
