i would like to make a few more suggestions on this matter, as after reading all the anti islamic propaganda and false accusations, i feel it is imperative on me to set the record straight.
Touching on the point of who is a terrorist again, Americans should look back into their own history as others have mentioned above, i.e massacre of natives etc. I aint gonna go to deep into it but just ponder this, during the war of independence, Georger Washington was considered a terrorist by the British.
breifly about women in islam. yes you are right, islam does not subscribe to the view of equality of genders. But this only proves the logic and practicality of islam. islam promotes equity of sexes. men and women are not equal but very different, physically, mentally and emotionaly. if a theif breaks into my house, i aint gonna hide behind my wife and say, we are equal so you go. men are genreally, physically stronger than women. women have quality in them which we men totally lack. i.e a womans maternal instinct and her general patience and overly much more effective with kids. i could continue but got to keep it short so ill end this point by posing this thought for you all to dwell on, you have 2 students in a class, bot achieve 98 out of 100in their exams. student a got 50 out of 50 in maths and and 48/50 in english. student b achieves 48/50 in maths and 50/50 in english. both have weaknesses and strengths but are equal in a general sense.that how islam advpcates equality if you ever could do so of sexes. thousands of western/white women reverts to islam bare witness to the fact that islam does not treat women in a derogatary way what so ever.
In the west women are merely considered as sex objects who are solely there for the pleasure of men. Is this assigning equality to women. Skimply dressed women are taunted and disrespected and given unwanted attention on the streets of London etc. the majority of people would not treat a nun in this way automatically because of the way they present themselves they demand the upmost respect. how similar do nuns dress to how all muslim women should dress.
Look at the moral mdecay ofsocieties in the western civilisation. Islam offers solution to the problems of secular west, where church and politics have been disassociated. Islam gives the woman a choice and right to work however it is obligaratory on a man to work and provide, whilst a woman is prefered to fulfil her historic role of keeping the family togather, which is necessary for a just, moral and ethical society. A woman does not have to spend of her money. sole responsibility lies with the man. divorce rates are sky high in the west as well asextra marital sex, not to mention a rape taking place every 30 seconds in the usa. Is it not common sense that rapes will take place when you put suggestively dressed women, alcahol(intoxicants), and men togather. It is widely agreed that men are weak naturally concerning their sexual desires, however when a situation is created as mentioned above, what does anyone expect. Islam, the perfect way of life, provides a society where such dispicable acts would rarely occur.
My wife works as a housing officer for our local council and she wears a hijab. i have total peace of mind concerning her and her actions. i Know not many men will be making advcances to her and i trust her noble character which she achieves from islam. many kids growingup close to where i live, the majority of who have christian or secular(is there a difference)backgrounds, grew up without one or both parent(s), or alternatively were left in care as both parents worked. the anti social elemnt which is so mprevelant in our society stems from this failiure of mainly christian(secular) people to understand the important roles designated to women and men in society. I am not saying muslim youth are not involved in crime, which they are due to poverty, especially amongst pakistani and bangladeshi youth in the uk. however you will not find muslim youth harrasing their neighbours or insulting elders and teachers. a Normal person could not walk through a white working class neighbourhood without being attacked. these kids have gone so far that the emergency services will not enter these housing estates without police escort however urgent the situation, for the sake of their own safety.
now regarding the uneducated and useless islam with respect to what islam has ever offered the world. the ignorance of some people here really surprises me. because of these peoples biased and prejudice filled views they are even blind tohistorical facts. so what has islam ever offered.
1) Gave rights to women 1400 years ago which the women in the western world only started to achieve very recently. somewhere in betwenn 100-200 years ago.
2) Without muslims the western world would lack the following, agricultue; domesticisation of animals for food, clothing and transportation; spinning and weaving; building, draining and irrigation; road making and the wheel; metal working and standard tools and making of all kinds of weapons; sailing ships, astronomical observation and the calendar; writing and keeping of records; laws and civic life; coinage; abstract thought and mathematics to mention but a few.
4) The whole concept of universities is islamic. How graduates dress during graduation is islamic dress(the gown and hat).
