Though you’re Jewish, you’re demonstrating your lack of knowledge of the faith. Conversion is always to be discouraged because we do not want people who decide to become Jewish on a whim. We are not Christians. We aren’t out there seeking new members of our tribe. We want people who seriously want to become Jewish. The standard practice is to be denied by a rabbi at least 3 times. This is Halacha. Personally, I think it’d be a great thing for Judaism if Madonna did convert officially. Perhaps that’s where she’s headed? We need a strong, powerful, pro-Israel, pro-Jewish voice in Hollywood – as stupid as that is.
