Increasingly, day by day, the President reveals himself as wholly inadequate for the office to which he has been elected. On domestic isues he appears as a mouthpiece for Rahm Emanuel, mouthing what he, the Pesident, utterly does not understand, nor does he care about. His agenda, if he has one, is simply to appeal to base interests of the electorate where he thinks he will gain votes. As to foreign affairs, his naivete is more than disturbing. He thinks he can sit down with the likes of Ahmadinejad (who is a figurehead and utterly under the control of the Ayatollah Khameni) and negotiate a lasting agreement. What Ahmadinejad and Khameni will do is pick his pockets, empty them, pat him on the back, smile with him for photographers, and the President will boast about his prowess when in fact he has been “taken to the cleaners”.
