What’s So Sinister About a Presidential Back-to-School Speech?
Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!
Uh, no, this one is a separate thought. Apologies for the duplicate above.
President Obama’s Sept. 8 start-of-school speech to students will be shown in schools, the White House hopes. (The speech will be broadcast on www.WhiteHouse.gov and C-SPAN.) The president “will challenge students to work hard, set education goals, and take responsibility for their learning,” says the Education Department.
Ho hum, I’d say.
Ms. Jacobs, I’d be inclined to agree with your ho hum, except for one $160,000,000 item to the contrary.
President-to-be Obama was emplaced in 1995 by one Bill Ayers (yes, the violent terrorist) as chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked together as a team to advance the CAC agenda. Walter Annenberg had intended that those funds be spent to improve the education of Chicago schoolchildren.
Obama and Ayers instead proceeded to fund radical leftist groups such as ACORN with those lavish millions, for the purpose of indoctrinating Chicago schoolchildren as ‘activists’. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down.
When the CAC evaluated the effect of those lavish millions on improvement in education, it found no change – the money was simply squandered to benefit political activists.
Please inform us, Ms. Jacobs, how you can ignore this sordid track record – Obama’s only experience as an executive before 2009 – and assure us that Obama has merely the children’s best interest in mind?
And why, oh why, will this month’s children be writing letters to themselves about what they can do to help OBAMA? Isn’t this setting up a shiny new Cult of Personality?
