I think it’s humorous to think that a 10 year old is going to care what Obama has to say.
However… right or wrong the guy is the President, I don’t like his policies so far, but I teach my children to be respectful… and I respect the position. There is nothing wrong in my opinion with the guy speaking, if he leave politics out of it, all the better, if he doesn’t then I will have a good opportunity for a dinnertime discussion with the kids. If someone thinks a 20 minute speach is going to be more powerful than the upbringing you are giving your kids… then you really should talk with your kids more.
