Will the Obama Administration use “Death Panels,” it is already using them in the Veterans Administration.
The Progressive Socialists are always striving to create their vision of a Utopian State, but in every experiment a Dystopian Hell has emerged: the National Socialists, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao are some of the more recent examples of the Progressive Socialist’s vision of the creation of heaven on earth or the Utopian Dream.
Sir Thomas Moore coined the word Utopia in 1516, using the Greek roots ou and topos, meaning not and place respectively; this was a play on words or a pun of the Greek word eutopia, meaning the place where all is well. There is a distinct possibility that Sir Thomas realized the problems future generations would encounter trying to implement the vision of a perfect state.
Sir Thomas More named the perfect state but the concept was much older. From the second millennium the Sumerian epic Gilgamesh described an earthly paradise where there was no death, no sickness, no attacks by lions, no widows, and no mourning by the dove.
Plato described his idea of a perfect state in the Republic in the 4th Century BC. Slavery was a given part of the Republic, women were owned communally and the breeding of children was directed towards producing an improved race through an early form of Eugenics. Philosopher Guardians were to be the ruling elites and all property was to be communal. There was to be no art, music, or poetry; the Totalitarian state found its genesis in the fundamentals of Plato’s Republic.
More’s Utopia described a Communist State with six hour work days, free communal restaurants with music, free medical treatment, and government clothing. The penal code was severe especially for sexual laws, adultery was punished by slavery and death.
The antithesis to Utopian Visions of the Progressive Socialist and the Liberal Marxist has been the apocalyptic realities of trying to implement the concepts and ending up with a dystopia or a creation of hell on earth.
Apocalypse, the last book of the New Testament or the Revelation of St John has come to symbolize doom and prophetic warnings impending disaster. Orwell wrote frightening or horrifying descriptions of the Socialist Dystopia in Animal Farm, 1945 and Nineteen Eighty Four, 1949. Aldous Huxley also wrote an elegant portrayal of a dystopia in his Brave New World, 1932. These represent the best, but there are many more.
In our contemporary world we have the Progressive Socialist Utopian Visions of Obama, Soros, Pelosi, Rahm, Reid, and our ever faithful propaganda bureau known generically as the MSM. They are driven to install their versions of a Utopian Society upon an increasingly resistant populace. In their self-deemed infinite wisdom they have of course chosen themselves to be Plato’s Philosopher Guardians of the Public Welfare, thus they become the Elites of Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty Four and the benefactors of all the wealth and power implied.
Now Sarah Palin as the the antithesis steps forward and disrupts their Utopian Visions with apocalyptic reality and the Progressive Socialist is challenged to the point of frantic decisions based on vitriol that illustrates the incompetence and ineptness of the administration.
Eventually the bureaucrats and propagandists reduced to employing periphrasis, the circumlocutioun style of jargon of semi-literate officials caught in deep doo doo at the bottom of the outhouse. They are facing the Greek situation of Peripeteia, or from prosperity to ruin. An example would be when the messenger approaches Oedipus with news to enlighten him of the question of his mother and inadvertently reveals the true nature of his birth.
Of course the supposed good news of Obama’s Health Care that was not written or read by him includes many secrets that were installed by his minions and as he learns the true nature of the details, he realizes the impending doom that surrounds him. The Greek-like tragedy of Obama’s Doomed Health Care Plan will be analyzed and laughed at for generations.
Palin as the progenitor of both good news and impending doom is more than willing to act as the agent of peripetia delivering the message and stealing the popularity that was once so freely given to the Wee Weed Man. In her humble manner, she is slowly but surely derailing the most powerful government in the world and it dream of Progressive Socialism.
from William Blake’s The Clod and The Pebble
“Love seeketh only Self to please,
To bind another to its delight
Joy in another’s loss of ease
And build a Hell in Heaven’s despite.”
