“And, just in case his resume wasn’t strong enough, he’d cozy up to Edward Said, the Islamist/Arab apologist who sought to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.”
This is pretty sloppy thinking. Said was a Christian Palestinian, not an Islamist. And he never proposed wiping Jews off the face of the Earth. He publicly embraced the two-state solution and Oslo. I’m no fan of Said – he did a great deal of damage to the integrity of Middle East studies, and his post-colonial theory went on to poison the humanities and social sciences in general. But he was not guilty of these other charges you lay at his door.
