I don’t think waiting to escalate is doing us any good. Right now, Iran spends $1 to cause us $100 or $1000 of damage or other money wastage.
We need to get that spending war closer to 1:1, in which they are no match for the US (our economy is 70 times the size of theirs). Even better, if we repeat 1988s Operation Praying Mantis, we set their military back a decade by sinking their navy and wrecking their airplanes before they even take off, at little cost to us. Almost no casualties = the ‘world community’ forgets about it after a few days.
Right now, they spend $1 to cost us $1000. Classic asymmetrical warfare that is working against us. We must make the war MONETARILY costly to them. That way we win without actually killing Iranian civilians or foot soldiers.
